E-comthe problem caused by the excessive quantity of Web and e-mail-based information and the Internet’s inability to discriminate between useful and useless material. In 1997, the problem of information overload was identified in an influential report from the British MCA (Marketing and Communication Agency). The report concluded that “information overload is not simply the problem of too much information. It is the problem of too much irrelevant information caused by the heavy reliance on one medium (the Internet) to distribute information.” -
