Актив, который нельзя ни увидеть, ни потрогать. Наиболее распространенные активы такого рода - "гудвил"/условная стоимость репутации и деловых связей фирмы (goodwill), патенты (раtents), торговые марки (trademarks) и авторские права. Наверное, самыми неосязаемыми и невидимыми из всех активов являются репутация и деловые связи фирмы, поскольку их наличие не зафиксировано ни в каком документе, а их коммерческую стоимость трудно определить. Однако они часто являются важным фактором приведенной/дисконтированной стоимости будущих прибылей, которая не сводится к простой прибыли на материальные активы (tangible assets). Помимо вышеуказанных, нематериальными/ неосязаемыми активами называются также страховые полисы и менее осязаемые инвестиции в других странах.
