Каждый видеокадр (плоскость яркости) в момент n в первую очередь фильтруется с использованием фильтра Собела. Затем в каждом кадре, фильтрованном с использованием фильтра Собела, рассчитывается стандартное отклонение по пикселам. Такая операция повторяется для каждого кадра и приводит к появлению временных серий пространственной информации об отображаемом трехмерном пространстве. Для представления контента пространственной информации об отображаемом трехмерном пространстве выбирается максимальное значение временных серий. (МСЭ-Т P.10/ G.100).
