Ib.; Men.37b גדול כְּ׳ הבריותוכ׳ human dignity (in proper appearance) is very important, for it may even suspend a Biblical law. Ber. l. c. ואינו לפי כְבוֹרוֹ and it is not becoming his dignity (to drive an ass). Sot.13a הניחו לו כְּבוֹדוֹ במלכים יותרוכ׳ let him alone, the honor shown to him (Jacob) by princes is higher than that by private men. Ib. נהגו בהן כ׳ they treated them with respect.
