1932Neoyorquino, estudia cine en la Universidad de Cali fornia en Los Angeles (UCLA), y se convirte en un miembro mas de la “factoria Corman”. Empieza a dirigir en 1959, naturalmente peliculas de bajo presupuesto y rodaje rapido. En el curso de estos rodajes iniciales para Roger Corman, conoce a Jack Nichol son, con quien se asociara para llevar a cabo el rodaje de sus dos westerns mas famosos. Calificados como westerns enigmaticos, A traves del huracan y El tiroteo, el primero de ellos con guion del propio Nicholson, producen no poca perplejidad. Mas que de westerns situados mas alla de su tiempo, hay que hablar de westerns que tratan de modelar (y modular) un tiempo propio. La innovadora propuesta de Hellman, que empieza a hacer aguas ya en la inaugural El tiroteo (aunque ambas peliculas se rodaron practicamente de modo simultaneo, con actores y equipo tecnico semejantes), parece naufragar definitivamente en su tercera pelicula del genero. Indis cutiblemente, A traves del huracan es la mejor de todas ellas, la mas solida, aunque no me nos hosca y hermetica que El tiroteo. Ambas se estrenaron con unos cuantos anos de retraso respecto de su fecha de produccion. Of the preexistent church 2 Cl 14:1, 2, 3.γ. ὁ πνευματικὸς (w. ἄνθρωπος to be supplied) 1 Cor 2:15 stands in contrast to ψυχικὸς ἄνθρωπος of vs. 14. The latter is a person who has nothing more than an ordinary human soul; the former possesses the divine πνεῦμα, not beside his natural human soul, but in place of it; this enables the person to penetrate the divine mysteries. This treatment of ψυχή and πνεῦμα in contrast to each other is also found in Hellenistic mysticism (s. Rtzst., Mysterienrel.3 70f; 325ff; 333ff; JWeiss, exc. on 1 Cor 15:44a.
