Nota d'usoIl verbo “segnalare”, nel significato di comunicare un problema e simili, non va tradotto letteralmente con to signal, ma con to report o to notify: The problem was reported last month, il problema è stato segnalato il mese scorso (non The problem was signalled last month). Se si utilizza to report non è necessario indicare a chi è stato segnalato qualcosa, mentre se si usa to notify bisogna indicare l'oggetto: The authorities were notified of the problem, il problema è stato segnalato alle autorità.
