Действия по переключению соединения в ходе разговора от одной соты к другой (межсотовое) или между радиоканалами в одной и той же соте (внутрисотовое) без прерывания соединения. Ведение абонента используется для того, чтобы установленное соединение было бы непрерывным в то время, когда мобильная станция движется от одной соты к другой (или как метод минимизации межканальных помех). (МСЭ-R M.1224, МСЭ-R M.624).
