Fr. 267), Σεμίραμις (Euph. 81), of ὤεα χελύνης (Nic. Al. 555), ὀφίων κῆρ (`snake-poison', Nic. Th. 35). The ancients gave groping explanations: `hot, soft etc.', vgl. H.: θιβρόν τρυφερόν, καλόν, σεμνόν, ἁπαλόν; θιβρήν φιλόκοσμον, καλλυντικήν.... καὶ παρὰ μεν Νικάνδρῳ την ἔμπυρον καὶ καυστικήν, τινες δε χαλεπήν. - And θίρρον τὸ τρυφερόν (Theognost.). So uncertain.
