Обеспечение необходимыми финансовыми ресурсами затрат на осуществление, развитие чего-либо. Например проекта, технического перевооружения, плана мероприятий, комплексной программы, бюджета и бюджетных затрат и т.д. В Плане счетов бухгалтерского учета выделен раздел "Кредиты и финансирование". Счета этого раздела предназначены для обобщения информации о состоянии средств, полученных извне на финансирование деятельности предприятия: полученные от банка кредиты; полученные от других заимодавцев кредиты; иные средства финансирования целевых мероприятий. Финансирование учитывается по кредиту счетов: "Краткосрочные кредиты банков"; "Долгосрочные кредиты банков"; "Долгосрочные займы"; "Целевые финансирование и поступления".
