Blitz, fulgur (der B., insofern er leuchtet, und zwar als einzelne, temporäre Feuererscheinung am Horizont, wofür zuw. auch fulgor caeli u. fulgores sich findet). – fulmen (der B., insofern er trifft u. einschlägt, der Wetterstrahl, wofür auch zuw. fulminis iactus oder ictus steht: auch bildl. = zermalmende Kraft, z. B. fortunae fulmen). – kreuzende, schlängelnde Blitze, obliqua fulmina. – unter B. u. Donner, subsecuto caeli fulgore tonitruque (z. B. apparere): wie der B. (mit der Schnelligkeit, Gewalt des B.), fulminis more: schnell wie der B., s. blitzschnell: den B. betreffend, fulguralis (z. B. Bücher). – Blitze, von Worten, verborum fulmina; *oratio fulgurans ac tonans: heftige Blitze gegen jmd. schleudern, multa contra alqm graviter dicere. – blitzartig, fulminĕus. – blitzblau, lividus.
