Nota d'usoLa locuzione libero professionista in genere non si traduce letteralmente con “free professional”. A seconda del campo lavorativo, esistono diverse alternative. Nei settori dell'editoria o dei media si usa comunemente l'aggettivo “freelance”: Fa il grafico da libero professionista, he's a freelance graphic designer; oppure, più genericamente il sostantivo “freelancer”. Nel caso di altri servizi professionali, si usa il termine “self-employed”: È una libera professionista, she's self-employed; Fa l'architetto da libero professionista, he's a self-employed architect.
