I a первый See easy, a (1). II adv 1. и сочетание at first.

First read the instructions and only then start doing the exercise —

We went home first — Сначала мы пошли домой.

At first we disliked him but later on we realized what a good friend he was — Сначала он нам не понравился, но позднее мы поняли, какой он хороший друг.

We did not believe him at first — Сначала мы ему не поверили.

или сочетанию с прилагательным first the first time и for the first time:

The first time I saw her was ten years ago или I first saw her ten years ago. When did you meet first?

д. соответствуют firstly, secondly, thirdly, etc. или in the first place, in the second place.
