Sie segelten in einem Schiff namens "Mayflower" über den Atlantik und gründeten New Plymouth in Neuengland, das im heutigen Bundesstaat Massachusetts liegt, wo sie sich ansiedelten. Damit begann die britische Kolonisierung Amerikas. Die Pilgrim Fathers gelten als die Gründerväter der Vereinigten Staaten, und jedes Jahr wird am Thanksgiving Day wieder ihre erste Ernte gefeiert.
