Glossed in the DRAE as a fire enclosed in a metal or porcelain chamber that is placed in a room in order to provide heat. It also refers to a room or chamber that is closed-in, insulated, and heated artificially. The use of the term to describe a Pueblo Indian council chamber is an extension of the first meaning and is not referenced in Spanish sources.
