    Greece was still subject to migrations and colonisations so that it was unable to settle down and increase: P. ἡ Ἑλλὰς ἔτι μετανίστατό τε καὶ κατῳκίζετο ὥστε μὴ ἡσυχάσασα αὐξηθῆναι (Thuc. 1, 12).
