Për këtë Ju duhet program softuerik për shfletim të dokumenteve në veb, që quhet veb shfletues ( Web browser ). Veb-shfletuesi paraqet datotekën. Ky ciklus kërkimi/pranimi përsëritet çdoherë kur inkuadroheni në veb.)
    Pas aktivizimit të këtyre shfletuesëve, hapet faqja e parë, që gjendet në URL adresën fillimtare (të definuar paraprakisht ose të përcaktuar personalisht). Nga faqja e parë, përmes linqeve hipertekstuale ose në ndonjë mënyrë tjetër, fillon ndërlidhja me pjesën tjetër të botës WWW.
    - URL adresa përbëhet nga tre pjesë dhe ka formën, siç vijon:
    http://emri i domejnit/rruga/datoteka.ext
    http://- tregon se përdoret servisi WWW (për shërbimet tjera në po atë vend mund të qëndrojë ftp, gopher, telnet ),
    emri i domejnit - paraqet adresën e serverit në internet të cilin e vizitojmë, me /Padresë ose me emër simbolik,
    rruga/datoteka.ext - tregon rrugën deri në datotekën që duhet të hapet në kompjuterin lokal.
    Zakonisht në vend të prapashtesës . ext qëndron htm ose html .

    - Veb ( URL ) adresa në fakt paraqet adresën e serverit. Ajo i përmban informatat në vazhdim (lexo nga fundi në fillim): shtetin, profilin e organizatës, organizatën, nënorganizatën, etj. Për shembull, në veb-adresën e Fakultetit Matematikor-Natyror janë përdorur këto simbole:
    mk paraqet shkurtesën e shtetit - Maqedonisë,
    edu tregon se bëhet fjalë për institucion arsimor,
    ukim është shkurtesë për Universitetin Shën. Qirili dhe Metodi,
    pmf është shkurtesë e Fakultetit Matematikor-Natyror.
    - Varësisht nga profili i organizatës, përveç prapashtesës edu , përdoren edhe prapashtesat në vijim:
    mil tregon se bëhet fjalë për organizatë ushtarake,
    org domejn i rezervuar për shoqata dhe organizata,
    gov simbolizon organizatat qeveritare,
    com qëndron për kompani,
    net paraqet rrjet kompjuterik ose organizata tjera komerciale.
    - Në vazhdim i keni shkurtesat në rrjet të disa shteteve:
    ● Shqipëria (Albania)- al
    ● Australia- au
    ● Bullgaria- bg
    ● Britania e Madhe- uk
    ● Franca- fr
    ● Kroacia- hr
    ● Japonia- jp
    ● ltalia- it
    ● Sllovenia- si
    - Duhet të ceket se vetëm veb-sajtet në SHBA nuk kanë simbolin e shtetit të tyre si prapashtesë.
    - Përveç adresës logjike që lehtë mbahet mend dhe shënohet, çdo kompjuter ka edhe adresë unike personale numerike, respektivisht fizike, të quajtur Numër Interneti ose IP adresë. Ajo adresë është numër 32-bitësh, që më së shpeshti paraqitet në formë të katër numrave, të ndara me nga një pikë. Për shembull: 149.194.345.211
    - Këto IP adresa, për dallim nga adresat logjike, nuk i krijon për vete vetë shfrytëzuesi, por ato i përcakton dhe aprovon NIC ( Network Information Center) - qendra që jep IP adresa dhe domejnë, pas kërkesave paraprake të shfrytëzuesëve.
