тратта.Письменное безусловное требование о выплате поименованной стороной в назначенный срок определенной суммы денег. Тратта, акцептованная (см. accept) трассатом (drawee), принимает форму долгового обязательства, сходного в принципе с простым векселем, и может быть удержана до наступления срока платежа либо учтена (дисконтирована) по ставке, соответствующей уровню кредитоспособности трассата и преобладающей норме процента. Тратты выставляют с оплатой: по предъявлении (bill at sight), т.е. требующие платежа непосредственно при предъявлении, либо с оплатой, например, через тридцать дней по предъявлении. Последние называются срочными траттами (time drafts). Тратта, акцептованная банком, называется банковским акцептом (banker's acceptance), тратта, акцептованная любой другой стороной, -торговым акцептом (trade acceptance). Тратта обычно используется вместе с аккредитивом (letter of credit) - выданным банком документом, гарантирующим, что в течение определенного периода банк акцептует тратту, если трассант (drawer) подтвердит совершение каких-либо заранее оговоренных действий (обычно отгрузки товаров), представив отгрузочную документацию, например коносамент (bill of lading). Тратта погашается в той же валюте, в какой она выставлена (т.е. трассат и трассант используют одну и ту же валюту, что указывает на их возможное функционирование в одной и той же стране). В свою очередь, операции с переводными векселями на определенном этапе связаны с обменом валют.
