(n.) деньги————————[пончик] пехотинец (во время войны между Севером и Югом в США (1861-1965 гг.) солдаты армии Конфедерации южных штатов носили на мундирах большие круглые пуговицы, которые в просторечии шутливо назывались doughboys пончики. Позднее так стали называть солдат-южан, а потом и солдат-пехотинцев армии США вообще. Синоним этого слова - doughnut пончик также стал употребляться для обозначения солдата-пехотинца.
