Удаление из коллоидных систем и р-ров высокомолек. соедин. примесей низкомолек. вещ-в с помощью полупрониц. мембран, т.е. перегородок, к-рые пропускают малые молекулы и ионы, но задерж. коллоидные частицы и макромолекулы. Простейшее устр-во для д. — диализатор - гильза из полупрониц. материала или цилиндрич. сосуд с полупрониц. мембраной вместо дна, к-рые заполняют очищ. (диализ.) жидкостью и помещ. в р-ритель (дисперсную среду). В основе д. лежат процессы диффузии.
Д. в электрич. поле - электродиализ - в десятки раз ускор. очистку диализ, систем от электролитов. Простой электродиализатор сост. из трех камер, отдел. одна от др. мембранами через к-рые своб. приникают ионы из средней камеры с очищ. жидк. и направл. перемещ. к соответст. электродам, располож. в бок. камерах. Многокамерные электродиализаторы с ионит. мембранами примен. в гидрометаллургии (для концентрир. р-ров солей, раздел. близких по св-вам элементов, очистки сбросных вод).
