Light-weight, white, glossy cotton cloth made in Russia and Central Asia; used for summer garments. It is more or less starched, heavily pressed and beetled. Often mercerised. Comes in narrow widths. Formerly three grades were principally distinguished viz., from Bokhara (finest), Khiva (medium), and Tashkend (coarsest) (Harmuth) -
