Si noti che la parola “flu” oggigiorno non è preceduta dall'articolo determinativo “the”, come avviene regolarmente anche per tutte le altre patologie: Hanno la malaria, they have malaria. In inglese esiste anche il termine “influenza”, che però viene usato solo nell'ambito professionale medico.
