К проводящим частям электрооборудования и электроустановки здания относятся жилы проводов и кабелей, шины и другие проводники, а также иные проводящие части электрооборудования, например – их проводящие оболочки.
В зданиях также имеются многочисленные проводящие части, не относящиеся к их электроустановкам. Это металлические конструкции, например, балки, колонны, арматура и др., и оборудование, например, металлические трубы водопроводов, систем отопления и газопроводов, металлические газовые плиты, отопительные котлы и теплообменники и др.
