= SCSI bus(Small Computer Systems Interface) интерфейс малых вычислительных систем, интерфейс (шина) SCSI (произносится "скази")тип параллельного интерфейса "быстрых" периферийных устройств (жёстких дисков, накопителей и библиотек на магнитных лентах, накопителей CD-ROM, принтеров, сканеров и др.). Различают первоначальную версию стандарта IEEE ХЗ.131-1986 (SCSI-1), принятую ANSI в 1986 г., и выпущенный в 1994 г. стандарт IEEE ХЗ.131-1994 (SCSI-2) в версиях для 8-, 16-и 32-разрядной передачи данных (две последние версии называются также Wide SCSI). И наконец, последняя версия стандарта, точнее, семейство стандартов, - SCSI-3 - называется также UltraSCSI. В зависимости от версии ( типа) SCSI к одной шине могут быть подключены 8 или 16 различных устройств, причём их число может быть значительно увеличено за счёт использования логических номеров устройств (LUN). Таким образом, многочисленные стандарты SCSI различаются по следующим параметрам: разрядность (ширина) шины данных и её быстродействие, количество подключаемых устройств, максимальная длина (от 1,5 до 25 м) и конструктивное исполнение шины, тип архитектуры (параллельная или последовательная шина)см. тж.
