פָּרַסI, פָּרַשׂ, (b. h.) 1) to split, break, esp. (v. בָּצַע) to break bread and say grace. R. Hash. 29b לא יִפְרוֹס אדם פרוסהוכ׳ a person should not break bread and say grace for his guests, unless he dines with them אבל פּוֹרֵס הוא לבניווכ׳ but he may do so for his children and his household in order to train them in religious practice.
