дипептид, образованный остатками β-аланина и гистидина, который содержится в скелетных мышцах всех позвоночных. Влияние К. на биохимические процессы разнообразно, однако окончательно его биологическая роль не установлена. К. обладает способностью защищать ткани от окислительного стресса, применяется как лекарственное средство, в том числе и в спортивной медицине, используется в качестве биологически активной добавки.
