(universal serial bus)Le port USB (universal serial bus) est une interface permettant de gérer et synchroniser les échanges de données entre une unité centrale et ses périphériques, par exemple un ordinateur et une imprimante, ou encore un téléviseur et un magnétoscope numérique, avec une distance maximale de cinq mètres. Un ordinateur dispose le plus souvent de plusieurs ports USB, pour l’imprimante, la souris, etc. La technologie Wireless USB (WUSB), à savoir l’utilisation sans fil de l’interface USB, apparaît en mai 2005. -

(wireless universal serial bus)Lancée en mai 2005, la technologie WUSB (wireless universal serial bus) permet l’utilisation sans fil de l’interface USB (universal serial bus). Elle permet de relier par ondes radio une unité centrale avec son périphérique, par exemple un ordinateur avec une imprimante, ou encore un téléviseur avec un magnétoscope numérique. Le débit maximal est de 480 Mbps (mégabits par seconde) pour une distance de trois mètres, et de 110 Mbps pour une distance de dix mètres. Les premiers produits WUSB sont commercialisés à la fin 2005. -
