Креативный метод, при котором 30-секундный ролик делится на две 15-секундные части: начало и продолжение. Как правило, обе части ставятся в одном рекламном блоке. Между ними показывается реклама других фирм. Этот формат (15+15) обходится рекламодателю как один 30-секундный ролик, однако эффективность сообщения за счет двусложности увеличивается. Проблема в использовании bookends заключается в том, что не всякий рекламодатель согласится, чтобы его реклама стояла в промежутке такого ролика. Компания Eveready, которая в октябре 1989 года использовала рекламу из двух частей с розовым кроликом Energizer, решила ситуацию так: в перерыве bookends показывались ролики, рекламирующие продукцию материнской Ralston Purina (корма для животных, кукурузные хлопья).
