высокомолекулярные природные соединения (белки, нуклеиновые кислоты, полисахариды и их производные), являющиеся структурной основой всех живых организмов и играющие определяющую роль в процессах жизнедеятельности. Молекулы Б. состоят из большого числа повторяющихся групп атомов или звеньев одинакового или различного строения. Состав и последовательность мономерных звеньев Б. определяют их первичную структуру.
