Солдатский жаргон: жители Фолклендских островов. Слово произошло от имени Bennie, героя телевизионной мыльной оперы 'Crossroads'. Bennie — не очень понятливый человек. Это слово вошло в обиход во время фолклендского конфликта в 1982 г. Получив выговор за такое оскорбительное прозвище жителей островов, войска стали называть островитян stills (= still bennies — всё ещё bennies). Позже среди британских солдат возникло слово bubs (Bloody Ungrateful Bastards — очень неблагодарные мерзавцы), относящееся к враждебному мировоззрению некоторых островитян.
