  • 41 лёгок на помине

    разг.
cf. talk (speak) of the devil < and he will (is sure to) appear (and his imps shall appear)>; talk of angels

    - А! вот и Евграф Ларионыч! лёгок на помине! - закричал дядя, нелицемерно обрадовавшись. - Что, брат, из города? (Ф. Достоевский, Село Степанчиково и его обитатели) — 'Ah, here is Yevgraf Larionich! Talk of angels!' cried my uncle, genuinely delighted. 'Well, brother, have you come from the town?'

Входной звонок прозвучал очень кстати... - Вот. Спросите у него сами, что, кто и кому сказал. Это наверняка он. Лёгок на помине. (В. Белов, Всё впереди) — He welcomed the sound of the doorbell... 'Well, here he is. You can ask him yourselves what was said there and to whom. I'm sure it's him. Speak of the devil, and his imps shall appear.'

βασιλεία, ας, ἡ (Heraclit. Fgm. 52; Hdt.+) a term relating to royal administration
gener. kingship, royal power, royal rule (1 Km 15:28; 20:31; Sir 10:8; Jdth 1:1; Esth 3:6; 1 Macc 1:16 al. Jos., Ant. 13, 220); δοῦναί τινι τὴν β. vs. 17; ἔχειν β. ἐπί τινων vs. 18; ἐποίησεν ἡμᾶς βασιλείαν he gave us royal jurisdiction 1:6; cp. 5:10; royal rule Lk 1:33; 22:29; 23:42 v.l. esp. of God’s rule the royal reign of God (usually rendered ‘kingdom of God’, and oft. understood as royal realm but with dilution of the primary component of reigning activity), a chiefly eschatological concept, beginning to appear in the prophets, elaborated in apocalyptic passages (Mi 4:7f; Ps 102:19; 144:11–13; Wsd 6:4; 10:10; Da 3:54; 4:3; cp. SibOr 3:47f.—Diod S 5, 71, 1 Zeus takes over the βασιλεία from Cronus; Sextus 311 κοινωνεῖ βασιλείας θεοῦ σοφὸς ἀνήρ) and taught by Jesus. The expressions vary; β. τοῦ θεοῦ and τῶν οὐρανῶν have essentially the same mng., since Israelites used οὐρανός (-οί) as well as other circumlocutions for θεός (cp. Mt 19:23f; s. Bousset, Rel.3 314f); the latter term may also emphasize the heavenly origin and nature of the reign.—Dalman, Worte 75–119; JWeiss, D. Predigt Jesu v. Reiche Gottes2 1900, 1–35; ESellin, D. isr.-jüd. • 50 Accidental Colour

The name given to that colour which an object appears to have when seen by the eye, which at the time is strongly affected by some particular colour; thus, if we look for a short time upon any bright object, such as a wafer on a sheet of paper, and then direct the eye to another part of the paper, a similar wafer will be seen, but of a different colour, and this will always be what is called its "Complementary" or "Accidental" colour; thus, if the wafer be blue, the imaginary spot will be orange; if red, it will be changed into green; yellow, it will appear purple.

    Fin
the price per share at which the holder of convertible bonds, or debentures, or preferred stock, can convert them into ordinary shares.
    EXAMPLE
Depending on specific terms, the conversion price may be set when the convertible asset is issued. If the conversion price is set, it will appear in the indenture, a legal agreement between the issuer of a convertible asset and the holder, that states specific terms. If the conversion price does not appear in the agreement, a conversion ratio is used to calculate the conversion price.
A conversion ratio of 25:1, for example, means that 25 shares of stock can be obtained in exchange for each $1,000 convertible asset held. In turn, the conversion price can be determined simply by dividing $1,000 by 25:
    $1,000/25 = $40 per share
Comparison of a stock’s conversion price to its prevailing market price can help decide the best course of action. If the stock of the company in question is trading at $52 per share, converting makes sense, because it increases the value of $1,000 convertible to $1,300 ($52 × 25 shares). But if the stock is trading at $32 per share, then conversion value is only $800 ($32 × 25) and it is clearly better to defer conversion.

  • 58 search engine registration

    E-com
the process of enlisting a Web site with a search engine, so that the Web site is selected when a user requests a search. The process involves choosing the right keywords and metadata for the documents, in order for them to be selected in as many appropriate circumstances as possible.
When registering a Web site with search engines, it is important to consider which will be of most benefit. Of the hundreds of search engines and directories, only a few really matter in terms of mass appeal—such as Yahoo, Google, and Alta Vista. However, there may well be specialist search engines for your particular industry, which should be on your list. All search engines used to be free to register with, but many are now charging, so consider whether they are worth the fee. An increasing number sell special placements in their search results: you choose a keyword, and when that keyword is input by a searcher, a short promotion for your Web site will appear. Search engines also need to be monitored regularly, as they can change the rules by which search results are presented. If your Web site is dropping down the results page, you may need to re-register.
