AMAD
Значение аэродинамического диаметра, при котором 50 % взвешенной в воздухе активности данного аэрозоля связаны с частицами, меньшими чем AMAD, и 50% активности обусловлено частицами, по своему размеру превышающими AMAD. Используется во внутренней дозиметрии для упрощения в качестве 'среднего' значения аэродинамического диаметра, являющегося репрезентативным для аэрозоля в целом. AMAD используется применительно к размерам частиц, при которых осаждение зависит преимущественно от инерционного уплотнения и оседания (т.е. в обычном случае примерно более 0,5 мкм). В случае меньших по размеру частиц осаждение обычно зависит прежде всего от диффузии, и применяется медианный по активности термодинамический диаметр (AMTD) {activity median thermodynamic diameter (AMTD)}, имеющий определение, аналогичное AMAD, но применительно к термодинамическому диаметру8 частиц. 8 Аэродинамический диаметр взвешенной в воздухе частицы – это диаметр, который должна иметь сфера единичной плотности, чтобы ее конечная скорость оседания в воздухе была равна скорости смещения представляющей интерес частицы.
