    [лат. adjuvans (adjuvantis) — помогающий, способствующий]
    вспомогательные факторы различного происхождения и различной химической природы, оказывающие неспецифическое стимулирующее действие на иммунный ответ (см. иммунный ответ) при совместном их применении со специфическими антигенами (см. антиген); вещества, повышающие иммунный потенциал вакцин. В качестве А. используются убитые микроорганизмы (микобактерии, коринебактерии, нокардии и др.), органические вещества (бактериальные полисахариды и липополисахариды, лецитин, холестерин (см. холестерин), ланолин, агар, глицерин, желатина, крахмал, пектины, протамины и др.), неорганические вещества (гидроксид алюминия, фосфат алюминия, хлорид кальция, фосфат кальция, гидроксид железа, аммониевокальциевые квасцы, минеральные масла и др.), синтетические вещества (нуклеотиды, полианионы и др.). Кроме простых А., используют сложные, представляющие собой смеси липидов с минеральными сорбентами, масел с липополисахаридами и эмульгаторами, микроорганизмов с маслами и др. веществами. Из сложных А. наиболее известен А. Фрейнда (см. адъювант Фрейнда). Первое вещество, обладающее свойствами А. (суспензия убитых Salmonella typhimurium в вазелине), обнаружено Л. Муаником и Д. Пино в 1916 г. Термин "А." ввел Г. Рамон в 1925 г.
