[лат. absorbents — поглощающий]твердое тело или жидкость, поглощающие извне вещества всем своим объемом, вступая с ним в химическое взаимодействие. А. применяют для быстрой и эффективной очистки любых поверхностей и емкостей, оборудования, аппаратуры, защиты от протечек на предприятиях промышленности; он быстро и эффективно впитывает нефть, эмульсии, водные растворы, а также агрессивные жидкости: кислоты, щелочи, фенольные соединения, охлаждающие эмульсии и т.д.
