    Retire slowly: Ar. and P. πγειν.
    Depart: P. and V. πέρχεσθαι, ποχωρεῖν, P. ἀποκομίζεσθαι, V. μεθίστασθαι, φέρπειν; see Depart.
    Retire from (a task, office, etc.): P. and V. φίστασθαι (gen.); see Resign.
    When you made Iphicrites retire from the command: P. ἐπειδὴ τὸν Ἰφικράτην ἀποστράτηγον ἐποιήσατε (Dem. 669).
