    Under one's hat = under wraps — в секрете. Буквально - под шляпой.

    Under the table — секретный, с оттенком незаконности и/или неэтичности. Типа "подстольный" - сравните с нашим "подпольный". А также - пьяный.

    Underwhelm (to) — не впечатлить. Это полупередразнивание популярного слова с противоположным значением - to overwhelm (потрясти).

    Underground — ну да, андеграунд. Но без всякой советской поэтизации. Хиппи, наркоманы, леваки, от глупо-криминальных Weathermen и Black Panthers (вы не поверите, если мы огласим все детали верований американских подпольных групп) до безобидно-глупых zines - бездельников, клеймящих эксплуатацию. Что уж говорить про всякого рода антиглобалистские, пронаркотические и прочие течения в защиту всякой гадости или против прогресса.

       Le webzine (ou ezine) est un "petit" journal en ligne à vocation non commerciale. Il répond aux mêmes critères que son ancêtre, le zine imprimé, abrégé de fanzine ou magazine. Tout comme le zine imprimé, le webzine est en général produit par une seule personne ou alors un petit groupe. Le plus souvent, il ne contient pas de publicité, ne vise pas un profit commercial et n’est pas dirigé vers une audience de masse. En 1997, alors que plusieurs centaines de zines sont désormais présents sur la toile, la signification de zine s’élargit pour recouvrir toute lettre d’information publiée par voie électronique. Mais "il subsiste toujours un groupe original et indépendant désormais minoritaire qui continue de publier suivant son coeur ou de repousser les frontières de ce que nous appelons un zine" (John Labovitz, créateur de l’E-zine-list).
