Flickr est un site très populaire permettant de partager, de stocker, de rechercher et d’organiser ses photos. Développé à Vancouver (Canada) par la société Ludicorp et son président Stewart Butterfield, il est lancé en version bêta en février 2004. Son succès est immédiat. Flickr compte 400.000 usagers quand il est racheté par Yahoo! en mars 2005. Il continue de se développer parallèlement à Yahoo! Photos (dont la fermeture est prévue en septembre 2007 aux Etats-Unis et fin 2007 dans les autres pays, avec report des inscrits vers Flickr). En décembre 2006, Flickr compte 5 millions d’usagers et 18 millions de visiteurs uniques (41 millions de visiteurs uniques pour Yahoo! Photos).Voir aussi: photo numérique, Yahoo!
