(Versa Module Eurocard (Europe)) шина VMEпопулярная 16/32-разрядная шина, который предложили в 1981 г. Джон Блэк (John Black, Motorola), Сесил Каплински (Cecil Kaplinsky, Philips), Крэг Маккена (Craig MacKenna, Mostek), при участии компании Thompson. Определена в стандарте ANSI/IEEE 1014-1987 и МЭК 821. Продвигается ассоциацией VITA. В первой версии стандарт предусматривал 10-МГц шину с пропускной способностью 40 Мбайт/с, версия VME64 (1994 г.) увеличила пропускную способность вдвое, она была улучшена в версии VME64X (1997 г.), следующая версия 2eVME повысила частоту шины до 20 МГц, а пропускную способность - до 160 Мбайт/с. Одна из последних версий VMEbus была предложена фирмой Arizona Digital и получила название VME320.
