Thyestēs, ae u. is, m. (Θυέστης), Sohn des Pelops, Bruder des Atreus, wurde von seinem Bruder vertrieben, weil er mit dessen Gemahlin buhlte. Bald darauf zurückgerufen, wurde ihm der eigene Sohn zur Speise von Atreus vorgesetzt. Mit der Pelopia, seiner Tochter, zeugte er den Ägisthus, der den Atreus tötete, Hyg. fab. 88: Nom.
