Of pupils Lk 2:46. ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ in the council Ac 6:15. ἐπὶ τῆς θυρίδος 20:9 (Ael. Aristid. 47, 23 K.=23 p. 451 D.: κ. ἐπὶ βήματος). ἐπὶ τῇ πύλῃ 3:10 D. ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ sit, remain at home J 11:20. Abs. sit there 20:12. The more general be, be situated is also poss. in some pass. (Paus. Attic. ς, 8 ἐν νησίῳ καθεζόμεναι=stay; Stephan. Byz. s.v.
