[от англ. c(rossover) h(otspot) i(nstigator) — побудитель горячей точки кроссинговера]октомерная нуклеотидная последовательность в ДНК E. coli (5'-ГЦТГГТГГ-3'), узнаваемая комплексом ExoV-(RecA), которая является "горячей точкой" общей RecA-RecBC зависимой рекомбинации. Эффект этой нуклеотидной последовательности полярен: рекомбинация происходит преимущественно только с одной стороны от нее.
