(1858-1939) Истман, Чарлз АлександрВрач и писатель, индеец санти [ Santee]; индейское имя - Охийеса [ Ohiyesa]. До 16 лет не общался с белыми. Выпускник Дартмутского колледжа [ Dartmouth College] (1887), получил диплом врача в Бостонском университете [ Boston University] (1890). Правительственный врач в резервации Пайн-Ридж [ Pine Ridge Reservation] (1890-93), где он ухаживал за ранеными пленными после бойни на ручье Вундед-Ни [ Wounded Knee Massacre], и в резервации Кроу-Крик [ Crow Creek Reservation] (1900-03). Автор девяти книг об индейцах, две из них автобиографичны. При президенте К.
