KANZU

  • 1 Kanzu

A white cotton garment with sleeves, reaching from neck to heel, and is the general wear of men in Pemba, East Africa. It is usually made of nainsook. Arabs wear it, but have embroidery round the neck and cuffs. The wealthier men prefer a hand-sewn kanzu which costs about three times as much as the ordinary machine-made garment.
