[u]parole (pl.) inventate o senza senso; gergo incomprensibile NOTE DI CULTURA: Jabberwocky è il titolo di una poesia di Lewis Carroll, comparsa per la prima volta in «Through the Looking-Glass» (1871). Il componimento narra lo scontro tra un uomo e un mostro, un Jabberwock per l'appunto, e si basa sul ► nonsense. Le parole, benché ricordino vagamente l'anglosassone, sono per lo più inventate, come si può constatare sin dai primi versi: «'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves / Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: / All mimsy were the borogoves, / And the mome raths outgrabe». -
