Caphāreus, m., eine klippenreiche, gefährliche Landspitze im südlichen Euböa, wohin die unter Agamemnon von Troja zurückkehrende Flotte der Griechen vom dortigen Könige Nauplius, dessen Sohn Palamedes die Griechen getötet hatten, aus Rache gelockt wurde und Schiffbruch litt, j.
