1 Chantadi-Dar
Another vernacular term for the very expensive Cashmere shawl, the Chand-dar. -
2 Chand-Dar
A variety of Cashmere shawl, woven with flowered borders and variously decorated centres, such as, the moon, four half-moons, green sprigs, flowers in the corner, etc., or combinations of these. Very expensive. Also termed Chantadi-dar Shawls. -
3 Doshalla Shawl
A variety of Cashmere shawl made 11/2 yards X 31/2 yards in size. The term is sometimes used to denote a bed covering made of wool or cotton having printed or woven borders. The Doshalla shawl is woven and sold in pairs and is the most esteemed production of the Cashmere looms. They vary in pattern and colours.
