קִילּוּסII, קִלּ׳ m. (1 (קָלַס) praise. Gen. R. s. 78 הגיע זמן קִילּוּסִי לקלסוכ׳ my turn has come to give praise Y.Succ.V, 55b bot. ולקִילּוּסָן הוא צריך is he in need of their praise? Ib. הביב קילוסן של ישראלוכ׳ (not קילוסין) Israels praise (of the Lord) is preferred to Levi R. s. 5, end (ref. to Ps. 19) בתחלה משורר בק׳ he begins by singing praise. Ex. R. s. 15 הכל נותנין לי ק׳ all will do me homage; a. fr.Pl. קִילּוּסִין, קִלּ׳. Y. Succ. l. c. אע״פ שיש לפניו כמה ק׳וכ׳ although there are before him many praises (Dan. 7:10), yet Israels praise, v. supra. Y.Pes.VIII, 36b; Y.M. Kat. I, 80d top מהו דברים … ק׳ what words?… praises (of the departed whose bones are collected). פַּנְגַּרpr. n. m. (an adaptation of πανεγυρίστης) Pangar (Encomiast), name of one of the generals (duces) before Jerusalem under Vespasian. Lam. R. to I, 5 חד אמר קילוס שמיה וחד אמר פ׳ שמיה one says, the name of that dux was Ḳillus (Praise), and one says, his name was Pangar. -
