זְהַםch. sam(זהםto be filthy, smell offensively, be offensive). Part. pass. זְהִים q. v. Pa. זַהֵם to create aversion, to sicken. Lev. R. s. 16 (to the leper) לא תְזַהֵם ברייתא (ed. Wil. תזהום, read תְזַהֵים) do not sicken people with thy sight. Ithpe. אִזְדְּהַם, Ithpa. אִזְדָּהַם 1) to be soiled, to empty the bowels. Targ. Ps. 106:20. 2) to become offensive. Ab. Zar.26a לא מִיזְדְּהַמְנָאוכ׳ I do not desire to become offensive to my husband (get ungainly through nursing).
