שְׁבַשׁ
N(hithpaal): быть смущённым, быть в замешательстве.

שָׁבַש(= שבשב, cmp. שוֹבָב) to run in all directions, blunder. Pi. שִׁבֵּש to entangle, confound; part. pass. מְשוּבָּש; f. מְשוּבֶּשֶׁת thrown into confusion. Yeb.XVI, 7, v. גַּיָּיס. Lev. R. s. 35; Cant. R. to VI, 11. Hithpa. הִשְׁתַּבֵּש to be entangled. Midr. Till. to Ps. 18:11 וטלפות סוסיהן מִשְׁתַּבְּשוֹת ed. Bub. (oth. ed. משתמטות) and the hoofs of their horses were entangled (caught in the mud).

שְׁבַשPa. שַׁבֵּיש 1) (denom. of שִׁבְשָׁא) to branch off, send forth branches. Targ. Ps. 80:12 שַׁבֵּישְׁתָּא Ms. (ed. Wil. שְׁבֵשַׁת, Pe.). 2) to cut branches, harvest grapes. B.
