נָתַזPi. נִתֵּז (sec. verb of נָזָה, v. Kidd.25a) 1) (neut. verb) to squirt, fly off. Kidd.25a הרי … מַוֶּה ונִחְּזָה הזאהוכ׳ (perh. Nif.) if a person (priest) was sprinkling for purification, and the sprinkling flew upon his (the unclean persons) mouth. Y.Yoma III, 41a top, a. e. מְנַתְּזִין, v. נִיצֹוץ. B. Kam.II, 1 היו … מנ׳וכ׳ if stones flew off from under the animals feet; a. e. 2) (act. verb) to cause to fly off.
