פַּרְפֵּרch. sam(פרפר, פיר׳ to move convulsively, struggle). Targ. Y. Gen. 42:21 מְפַרְפֵּר קדמנן Ar. a. Levita (h. text בהתחננו, cmp. חָבַט; ed. מפייס לנא).Cant. R. to III, 4 עבד ומפרפר כל ההוא ליליא (not יומא) he spent the entire night moving about restlessly, v. דַּמְדֵּם. Lam. El … says, ‘And behold waters dripping (Ez. 47:2), this intimates that in the days to come water oozing out and rising, as if coming out of a flask, will come forth from under the threshold, v. פָּכָה. Ib. 11 כך היתה הבאר … מְפַכְפֶּכֶת ועולהוכ׳ (Var. מפרפר) so the well that travelled with Israel in the desert, resembling a rock of the size of a kbarah (כְּבָרָה), bubbled forth and rose, travelling with them up mountains and down
